Fraport i8 Prelude to a Flight (Oct.2014)

In between of the normal ambient sounds of this place, sounds from people walking, from luggage rolling, mechanical sounds from the boards and announcements from the mic, a string of piano notes is swaying around romantically. Imagine being a musician having to wait in an airport for your corresponding flight and you see in front of you a piano, waiting for you to play. Or just being a traveler in a similar situation and you can listen to this musician playing, while people are carrying their bags to their flights. This is what was going on in Fraport (Frankfurt airport) as I passed through in October of 2014.

And when it was time for me to walk the area to my flight, I encountered the brand new supercar, the BMW i8, black on a deck of bright light laying seductive, adventure promising and silent, as if ready to burst into speed at any second.

And then I passed under a dome from which models of airplanes were hanging like in a child's bedroom. That's when this thought comes to me, that the symbolic images of what I encountered on my route in this airport (a trip on each own) are connected to what makes us all love flying and what can create a vision for airliners to excel.
