Ypsilou means High and this monastery has it right. You get up there and it's like you're sitting on top of the world. From the tip of this natural pyramid hill top you can see half the island of Lesvos and a great deal of the Turkish coast. Everytime i've been there i've seen only one monk. He says there is another one but i'm not sure about it. He told us his story, he was from a big and poor family of the island. He was sent here because his family couldn't support him. But he got in trouble with the chief monk, that caused him to be sent in psychiatric clinic a lot of times. Since then he's into medication and when you talk to him you can understand that his mind isn't exactly in its place. I felt it's a pity because he seems to have a good heart. I guess if you have a lot of medication and no meditation then you might not apreciate living next to heaven...

1 Sept 2012, Visiting The Friend The Angel
Archangel Michael in Mantamados village inland Lesvos, is more than a monastery. It's going to a friend's house to say hi. So his place is built on the site of one of his miraculous appearences, where he saved a monk from the perish that found all the rest, during the attack from pirates in the 16th century. We feel him as a friend and a protector and believe in him and his miracles. Once you get in there you feel the energy. People come here from all over the country. And his feast two weeks after Easter is an experience. The day where these photos are taken, a family had came from the island of Agios Eustratios to baptise the little boy.

3-6 Sept 2012, Buddhafield Alone
As Septembre was coming in, Osho Afroz was starting to empty. I realised that the day when my girlfriend left. When i went in the kitchen to clean after lunch, for the first time this season i found myself completely alone. No person on the Buddhafield horizon, no sound but nature. A sensation came into my body, one that i remember from long ago. The memory of a feeling of agony, of a hole, when left alone. But this time, as it came it gave way to a wonderfull feeling of wholeness. Of feeling comfortable in my space. I pressed the play on the music, took a photo of the kitchen to remember this moment and enjoyed the space!
