22 May 2008 Tibetan Olympics 1st Competition Day, Fog Dance

Fog is one of Mcleod's lovers, appearing at dawn, playing with her veils a seductive flirt with the town. For the first day of competition we met in the bus square of Mcleod at dawn to get up to the mountain slope and the open field in the Himachalian forests for the Archery and shooting games. The athletes, who looked very cool the previous days, are nervous today. After all, this is the big day, were they are wearing the team's official uniform and have to perform in front of an audience and press from all over the world. Then, after their warm up, Jamyang Nyima (age 23, student from Dharamsala) started singing a Tibetan traditional song. Whiled the team danced on it, Lodoe Gyatso (age 27, businesman from Delhi) jumped in the middle of the dance's circle and performed a folk Tibetan-hip hop dance that spread joy and laughter to everyone and loosened up everybody's tension. Then everything came back together with a short meditation. The games were ready now to begin...
